Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how cancellations, changes, and refunds work when you book flights, hotels, vacation packages, or car rentals through TheTravelValley. Because we work with many different airlines, hotels, and suppliers, exact terms vary by booking — this page explains the general process and what to expect.

1. The General Rule

Refund and cancellation terms are set by the airline, hotel, or supplier you booked with, and depend on the specific fare, rate, or package type you chose at checkout. Always check the fare rules or rate conditions shown at the time of booking — these are also included in your booking confirmation.

2. Flight Cancellations

• Refundable fares can typically be cancelled for a full or partial refund, minus any applicable service fee.
• Non-refundable fares are usually not eligible for a cash refund, but many airlines allow you to change the flight or receive travel credit for a rebooking fee plus any fare difference.
• Airline-initiated cancellations — if the airline cancels or significantly changes your flight, you're generally entitled to a full refund or free rebooking; see our flight cancellation rights guide.
• Most airlines allow free cancellation within 24 hours of booking if your flight departs 7+ days later — this varies by carrier.

3. Hotel Cancellations

• Free cancellation rates can be cancelled up to the stated deadline (often 24-72 hours before check-in) for a full refund.
• Non-refundable/prepaid rates are cheaper but generally can't be cancelled or refunded once booked, except in cases the hotel agrees to as an exception.
• Cancellation deadlines are shown in local hotel time — check this carefully close to your check-in date.

4. Vacation Package Cancellations

Packages combine flights, hotels, and sometimes activities or transfers from different suppliers, so cancellation terms are usually set by the strictest component in the bundle. In many cases, packages carry a cancellation fee that increases closer to departure. We'll always confirm the specific cancellation terms for your package before you pay.

5. Car Rental Cancellations

• Most standard "pay at pick-up" rentals can be cancelled free of charge before pick-up time.
• Prepaid/discounted rental rates may carry a cancellation fee or be non-refundable, depending on the rental company.

6. How to Request a Cancellation or Refund

2. Our travel expert will check the fare/rate rules that apply to your specific booking and confirm what you're eligible for.
3. If you're eligible for a refund, we'll process the request with the airline, hotel, or supplier — refunds are issued back to your original payment method.

7. Refund Processing Time

Once a refund is approved by the airline, hotel, or supplier, it typically takes about 7-10 business days to appear on your original payment method for card payments, though some airlines and suppliers can take longer during high-demand periods. TheTravelValley does not hold your refund — we forward it as soon as the supplier releases it.

8. Changes & Rebooking

If you need to change your dates or destination instead of cancelling, contact us before your travel date — rebooking is often cheaper than cancelling outright, though a change fee and any fare/rate difference may still apply depending on the supplier's rules.

9. Non-Refundable Bookings

Some fares, rates, and package deals are sold at a discount specifically because they're non-refundable and non-changeable. We'll always make this clear before you complete payment, so you can compare it against a flexible option if that matters for your trip.
